Is Vicco Turmeric Cream Good for Oily Acne Prone Skin?
Vicco Turmeric Cream Without Sandalwood Oil

Vicco Turmeric cream for pimples & acne scars

Does Vicco Turmeric skin cream work on pimples and acne scars? If you are wondering about the benefits of Vicco Turmeric cream for oily acne prone skin, read on. In this review of Vicco Turmeric cream, we will see if this ayurvedic skin cream is good for oily acne prone skin and whether it can do anything for acne scars.

The main ingredients of Vicco Turmeric skin cream are turmeric 16% and sandalwood oil in an unknown cream base. The ingredients of Vicco Turmeric WSO are the same, but without sandalwood oil.

Does Vicco Turmeric skin cream cure acne and pimples?

Turmeric is a potent healing agent used in many ayurvedic creams and preparations. Turmeric is anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial, so using it in a skin cream can protect the skin from mild irritation and infections. But you have to understand that acne is more than just irritation. If the base of the cream clogs your pores, you will end up with a face full of acne from using a cream that claims to cure acne.

Does Vicco Turmeric skin cream work for acne scars and pimple marks?

Vicco Turmeric can be an excellent cream to fade dark pimple marks and even out the skin tone. So yes, Vicco Turmeric is a good pimple marks removal cream. It may not help much in case of depressed acne scars because it acts only on the surface of the skin. You can benefit from pimple marks and hyper pigmentation lightening benefits of Vicco Turmeric only if it doesn’t break you out.

Is Vicco Turmeric skin cream comedogenic?

Even though the Internet is full of reviews from people who swear Vicco Turmeric cured their pimples, Vicco Turmeric does have comedogenic ingredients in it. Sandalwood oil is considered comedogenic. Even their WSO version (without sandalwood oil) has an unknown cream base that may be comedogenic. Vicco Tumeric is an example of a pimple cream that has the right acne-fighting ingredient (16% turmeric) but a possibly comedogenic base. If your skin is highly acne prone, Vicco Turmeric will not suit you.

Can Vicco Turmeric skin cream cause pimples?

Both the original Vicco Turmeric version and the WSO (Without Sandawood Oil) have been reported by people to have caused acne or aggravated existing acne. Whether Vicco Turmeric will suit your skin or not comes down to whether the anti-acne benefits of turmeric will outweigh the otherwise comedogenic ingredients of the skin cream.

How to use Vicco Turmeric cream?

Use it morning and evening, after washing your face. You can also use Vicco Tumeric cream as a spot treatment for pimples. In that case, dab it on a pimple and leave it on overnight. If the texture of the cream feels heavy or greasy, use it as a night cream.

Can men use Vicco Turmeric cream?

Yes, men can use Vicco Turmeric cream, both the regular version and the WSO one. The turmeric in the cream imparts a yellowish tinge to the skin. If that bothers you, use Vicco Turmeric at night and wash it off in the morning.

Can Vicco Turmeric skin cream be used as a sunscreen?

Maybe not. Even though turmeric has been known to protect the skin from sun’s rays, there is no SPF mentioned on the label indicating there is no sun protection guarantee. So you do not know the amount of sun protection you are getting from the cream. If you have to be outside for longer periods, do use a separate sunscreen.

What do I do if Vicco Turmeric causes pimples on my face but I still want to get the benefit of turmeric?

Use turmeric powder directly. You could make a paste out of mixing turmeric powder with water. Don’t use milk, because the fat in it can cause pimples. For the same reason, yoghurt/curd is not recommended. Even rose water can break you out due to rose oil in it. So just be careful what mixing liquid you use. Turmeric is highly staining, so maybe use this mixture in the shower or bath.

Can I eat turmeric to cure acne?

It has been long stipulated that detoxifying the liver can cure acne. Turmeric helps detoxify the liver. For acne, taking about a teaspoon of turmeric powder with a glass of water daily is recommended. Too much turmeric taken internally (in food or by direct ingestion) can be heat inducing, meaning it can increase the internal body heat. What that means for acne prone skin is – boils and pimples on the skin. So turmeric is great, but use moderation.
