Hazrul Yahud bhasma is a preparation of stone. Hazrul Yahud is a grey colour round stone with Ber (Indian plum) like appearance. It is also known by some other names such as Pattar Ber, Sang Yahud. In Unani system of medicine, this stone is used for expulsion of stones from body due to its litholytic (dissolves calculi) and diuretic (promotes urine production) action. Mainly this is used in Unani medicine. But due to its stone dissolving abilities, Hazrul is included in Ayurvedic medicines.

Kidney Stones & Renal Colic

Hajrul Yahood Bhasma has lithontriptic and diuretic action in the body, which helps dissolving and pushing the kidney stone along the course of the ureter. The most important thing is that it also has anodyne action, which absolutely reduces renal colic within first 2 to 3 dosages. Hazrul Yahud Bhasma reduces following symptoms:

• Renal colic (pain caused by kidney stones)
• Burning sensation in the urine
• Dysuria (difficult or painful urination)

Crystalluria

Crystalluria is a condition in which crystals are found in the urine. It occurs due to either urinary calculi or side effects of certain medicines. The medicines causing Crystalluria are penicillin and sulfonamides.

Hajrul Yahood Bhasma along with Chandraprabha Vati helps in such condition. A month course with these remedies eliminates the Crystalluria. In case, Crystalluria recurs repeatedly, then the course with these remedies should be taken for at least three months. In addition to this, adding Chandanasava in the treatment helps as adjuvant.

Dosage of Hazrulyahud Bhasma

250-500 mg of this medicine may be taken once or twice a day. It may be used before or after each meal.
